Service Description

This inspection is our basic new client package and includes everything in Level I inspection. This service does include a full cleaning of your appliance and vent. Level II inspection instances: 1. Replacement of an appliance with one of dissimilar type, input rating or efficiency 2. Prior to relining or replacing of flue lining 3. Upon sale or transfer of the property 4. After an event likely to have caused damage to the chimney, such as a chimney fire, operating malfunction or other sudden occurrence event Level II Inspection Includes: 1. Condition of chimney and chimney wall material 2. Attic insulation shield for factory-built chimneys and factory-built fireplace chimneys 3. Housing and shrouds for factory-built chimneys and factory-built fireplace chimneys 4. Factory-built chimney support type 5. Factory-built chimney and factory-built fireplace chimney assembled with appropriate parts 6. Factory-built chimney and factory-built fireplace chimney clearances 7. Factory-built chimney and factory-built fireplace chimney attachment to appliance 8. That the venting system is properly sized for the appliance 9. Height and dimension of liner 10. Installation and condition of offsets in flue 11. That unused openings (into flue) are properly sealed 12. Construction of the wash 13. Expansion joint between the flue and wash 14. Condition of flashing 15. Condition of crickets, when present 16. Chimney connector or vent connector gauge (material thickness) 17. That the chimney and vent connector diameter is proper for the appliance(s) connected 18. That the wall pass-through is properly installed with adequate clearance and installation details 19. Chimney or vent connector configuration (appropriate dimensions for sizing and compared with vent or chimney) 20. Manifold sizing 21. Combustion air supplied for fireplaces in accordance with section 11.4 of NFPA 211 22. Conditions of outside air inlets, outlets, and ducting in accordance with section 11.4 of NFPA 211. 23. Ash dump 24. Combustible framing/forms under hearth or hearth extensions 25. Fireplace opening size (ratio with flue) 26. Size of throat of masonry fireplaces 27. Smoke chamber dimensions (angle/height) of masonry fireplaces 28. Smoke chamber lining (parged, firebrick etc.) of masonry fireplaces 29. Smoke shelf area of masonry fireplaces 30. Factory-built fireplace brand, model, and listing 31. Fireplace glass doors and accessories are approved 32. Hearth platforms and covering
